Poetry

Poetry was created in 1968 by Century 68.The first poem I'm going to tell you about is a concrete poem. A concrete poem is a poem that is a picture. Here's a demonstration:
The next poem is a haiku. a haiku is a 5-7-5 poem. the first poem is 5 syllables, the next 7 syllables, the last, 5 syllables again. Another is a Cinquain. It is a 5 line poem. The first line consists of one word but it has to be a noun or a subject. The next line consists of two words but is an adjective that describes the first line. The third line consists of three words but is an action verb that relates to line one. The fourth line consists of four words but is a feeling or a complete sentence that relates to line one. The last line consists of one word but is a synonym or a word that sums it all up. One more is a wordplay poem. It means it plays with words like: deer and dear. for example: The hare was running against the tortoise and it lost it's hair. while the hare lost it's hair the tortoise walked slowly to the finish line before the hare could find it's hair. There are many more and you can all look them up. Don't forget to vote on the poll and heck out the rest of the student council website. BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
