This year at U.N.M.S. the spirit level has really decreased. Last year,if some of these students remember, spirit was off the charts. For example, alumni Tiffany Cordero from the Class of 2008, said that she thought that spirit has decreased a bit. "When I came in and heard the responses to spirit week," she said, "I was a little disappointed." According to several alumni, last year felt more competitive; everyone had fun with it. This year she says, "people know about it, but it seems like it's just another day." This years UNMS spirit week was well.....weak .Not many people participated=(
A lot of schools have spirit week and they participate in it. Like Hana Thompson who came this year. She said "Lots of people in my old school was enthusiastic." When we asked her about what she thought about the spirit in our school, she replied "Its pretty good.Me and my friends do it and have a lot of fun.I see a lot of other people do but not a lot." She said many more things but we forgot to write it down, that and she kept saying never mind and kept being indecisive on what to say.
Hana also said, "In spirit week we don't have to wear dress code.Maybe we should have more spirit weeks so people would wear the dress code."Hmm good idea Hana!We are planning to have another spirit week, but we want more people to participate so it can be a fun week and we can have a blast!
Our first dance, the Snowball was really fun even though the people with the dress code issue weren't able to come. If you, the student, would wear your dress code we can have even more fun. Hope to see everyone at our next event to boost spirit.
GO PANTHERS!
* Alumni means someone who graduated.
